John Cornyn Seeks A Tax Reduction For The 1 Percent Only

S. 1738 provides a 3.8 tax cut, but only for households with an income of over $250,000 per year. It’s a special tax deal for the 1 percent most wealthy Americans. It provides no benefit whatsoever to the 99 percent.

John Duncan Calls Medicare A Waste Of Money

Representative Duncan is arguing that taxes for millionaires and billionaires must not be increased, and that Medicare services to Americans must be cut instead. When Duncan calls the federal government wasteful, he’s saying that Medicare is wasteful. Actually, Medicare operates much more efficiently than private medical insurance does.

The Ending Spending Fund arranged for its donors to all give their money in a coordinated rush, right after its “pre-general” donation report that reported zero dollars in donations. As a result of this scheme, Ending Spending now won’t have to report the identity of any of its donors until after Election Day, preventing them from becoming a campaign issue.

House Democrats Pass Tax Cut For the Rich

Pomeroy’s bill took current estate tax levels and reduced them by 18 percent. The minimum tax-free inheritance was also raised, so that whereas people inheriting a million dollars didn’t have to pay any tax at all, now people inheriting three and a half million dollars get away with paying no taxes on the income.
