Congressman Paul Broun introduced an amendment to the bill that would have cut the amount of time the Solar Technology Roadmap Committee would have to work, and reduce funding for the implementation of the legislation’s solar energy research as well.
The public housing program funded in H.R. 3288 also ought to please conservatives, given that the form of housing it supports is a change from old public housing programs, which created high crime areas by concentrating a combination of desperate and vulnerable people through tracts of purely low-income housing. The new program demolishes the old projects and replaces them with mixed-income housing.
Six House Democrats voted against the new rules for how the U.S. House will operate, but have yet to explain why.
