McCotter maintains his reputation with the introduction of H.R. 5108, the Cyber Privacy Act. The following is the full text of the Cyber Privacy Act: A [...]

National Data Privacy Day Resolution A Nasty Joke

Posted on January 30 2010 by Congress Watcher

In the face of the Senate’s repeated on-the-record votes against data privacy, it’s an outrageous hypocrisy for senators to vote for a resolution that suggests the observance of National Data Privacy Day – a day after the actual event is over.

Martha Coakley Still Doesn’t Get It On The Patriot Act

Posted on December 1 2009 by Congress Watcher

Whether Martha Coakley is truly clueless about the Patriot Act, or is using the illusion of ignorance to cover for a seething hatred of the constitutional rights of Americans under the Fourth Amendment, she is clearly the wrong choice to succeed Edward Kennedy.

Last Chance To Prevent FISA Amendments Act Abuses

Posted on July 8 2008 by Congress Watcher

The FISA Amendments Act establishes the Attorney General as a spymaster beyond the reach of the law, with powers to target American citizens within the United States for political or personal reasons. Any senator who votes to approve the FISA Amendments Act may be fairly considered a traitor to the cause of freedom.

Listen To Your Supporters on FISA, Obama!

Posted on July 2 2008 by Congress Watcher

Consider that Pennsylvania is a swing state, and you start to see the serious threat that Obama’s support of the FISA Amendements Act has become. Obama activists in swing states are one by one dropping out of his campaign, withholding their money and refusing to volunteer their time. Consider that these are the people who Obama had counted on to form the foundation of his campaign.

Thank The Defenders of the Constitution

Posted on June 28 2008 by Congress Watcher

The FISA Amendments Act completely unravels the fourth amendment to the Constitution. It makes protection from unreasonable search and seizure a mere privilege for those that please the government, not an inalienable right.
