Obama’s decision to follow the Unitary Executive legal theories of the Bush Administration makes Americans powerless to stop federal government spies from invading their privacy at whim. President Obama, like George W. Bush, is attempting to place himself in a position above the law.

Congressman Stearns Asks A Good Question

Posted on March 11 2009 by Congress Watcher

In general, I’m not inclined to trust Cliff Stearns. However, yesterday Stearns asked a really good question about a particular manifestation of Barack Obama’s economic policy.

Progressive Democrats Criticize Obama Iraq Plan

Posted on March 5 2009 by Congress Watcher

The reason for a more rapid pullout from Iraq that the American people may be most sympathetic to is economic: America needs its resources to struggle against the deepening recession.

James Moran Advises Senate on Redistribution of Wealth

Posted on February 9 2009 by Congress Watcher

The redistribution of wealth has already taken place, through irresponsible tax cuts for the extremely wealthy instituted under George W. Bush.
