Does Super PAC Pay Aguilar Family Member’s Salary on Ground Campaign?

Even if the two Aguilars are unconnected, reasonable doubts about coordination exist. Voters should be asking what this "ground campaign" created by the Restoring Our Community Super PAC is, and what relationship it bears to the official Pete Aguilar for Congress campaign. What were Cynthia Aguilar and the other "ground campaign" workers being paid to do, other than just being on the ground?

Michael Grimm Taking Money In Private Cigar Club Tonight

like everyone outside the Washington D.C. elite, we were not sent an invitation to Grimm's private cigar club meeting. We will note that Congressman Grimm is explicitly asking for $1,000 from industry-affiliated political action committees in exchange for his company tonight.

Terrorists and Heart Disease: Who in Congress Focuses on the Real Harm?

It’s not about harm. It’s about hype. According to the Statistical Abstract of the United States, every year heart disease kills two hundred times more Americans than terrorist attacks killed in the peak year of 2001. In other years, heart disease deaths are hundreds of thousands of times more numerous than terrorism deaths. Yet year [...]

Jo Bonner Sacrifices Jobs To Red China

The rights to Reactive Red 264 are owned by Unilever, a multinational corporation with roots in the USA. Unilever could easily start making the dye Reactive Red 264 right here in the USA, creating jobs by doing so, but Representative Bonner is selling out American workers, saying that Chinese workers are the only people who can properly make the color red.

Domestic Niobium Production Stunted By Suspended Import Fees

Duties on imported niobium could provide just the sort of economic pressure needed for quick development of niobium mines in Nebraska, bringing jobs to the American heartland. In spite of this, Senator John Rockefeller has introduced two pieces of legislation that extend the suspension of import duties on a form of niobium.

Howard Berman Busts American Jobs With Foreign Shopping Bag Bill

If Power Is In Prayer And Not Congress, Why Does Congress Get All The Payoffs?

If he really thinks that the true source of power is prayer, and not Congress, why does Mike McIntyre keep on running for re-election to Congress, instead of just staying home and praying full time?

Putting the Parker Griffith Party Switch in Context

Let's put the news that Alabama Representative Parker Griffith has switched from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party in its proper context: that of his policy behavior in the House of Representatives. In his consequential voting and cosponsorship behavior, it's clear that Parker Griffith switched over to the Republican Party long ago. To his ...

A Libertarian Ignorance Of General Welfare Challenges Jared Polis

It doesn't take a genius to identify the political ideology of Stephen Bailey, a Republican who is challenging progressive Democrat Jared Polis for Congress in 2010. Bailey fits within the trend within the Republican Party of emphasizing libertarian ideas. Bailey's frequent references to Ayn Rand are the first big clue. Bailey's suggestions ...

Word has spread quickly that U.S. Representative Betsy Markey is in a precarious political position entering the 2010 election season, and an announcement she has made today indicates something of the reason she has become vulnerable in the first place.
