This podcast introduces the That’s My Congress audio podcast, explaining who we are and what we intend to do, what our focus on the United States Congress can include, and how we’re different from the Washington D.C. insider and political podcasts. We’re not corporate sponsored, and we don’t have the big financial backing of the journalistic establishment, but we do have the ability to look for the information.
Our introductory podcast.

There’s a new system we’re fiddling with as a way to make congressional campaign gear available for many different districts across the United States, but in a way that doesn’t make it unwieldy. It’s called Zazzle, and one of the things it does that makes it better than CafePress is give us a way to present multiple campaign items in one box, with the items rotating through it.
Here’s a sample, with a few of the actual congressional campaign gear we’ve provided for some of the more progressive members of Congress, and their re-election campaigns.

I’m feeling very pleased that I can announce to you that the That’s My Congress Discussion Forum is up today.
There are three main categories to the forum:
1. House of Representatives campaigns
2. Senate campaigns
3. Legislation
You’ll have to give us a few days to populate the forum with topics for discussion - but that’s where you can help. If there’s a hot campaign going on where you live, a neglected campaign that needs more discussion, or a bill going through Congress that you believe needs some attention, log on to the forum and leave a message about it there, where other people can share information and debate the merits of your contribution.

Welcome to That’s My Congress, a new blog that is devoted to covering issues related to the United States Congress.
We’ve found in our reporting on other issues that it’s often very difficult to get basic information about what’s going on in Congress, and what’s happening with congressional campaigns. Most news organizations these days either lack interest or the resources to get out and cover the details of congressional matters, leaving most Americans very ignorant about what their representatives in Congress are doing, or even ignorant about who their representatives in Congress are.
We can’t singlehandedly fix the problem, of course, but we can be a part of the solution. There’s no way that we can thoroughly cover all the hundreds of members of Congress, or write about all of the many congressional campaigns that surge into action every two years. However, we can serve as a valuable supplement to the coverage of Congress offered by the establishment press.
Our goal is to cover what others aren’t covering, so that more information related to Congress is available, for those who care to look. We’re hopeful that, when more adequate and relevant information about Congress is available, more Americans will take an interest in their national legislature, and what their particular representatives are doing there.
