In the debate over H.R. 3408, legislation that would expand offshore drilling for oil and gas without new safety protections and push through the XL pipeline for tar oil over America’s Ogllala Aquifer, Representative Doc Hastings said that H.R. 3408 would “secure our security”.
Does our security need securing? If so, how secure is this security? And who is going to write legislation securing the security of our security? I bet Congressman Hastings is just the man to do that.
While he’s at it, perhaps Hastings could propose laws to treasure the Treasury, educate education, defend Defense, and court the Supreme Court.
