Mo Brooks Says Non-Religious Americans Are His Foes

“They are our foes.” That’s what U.S. Representative Mo Brooks wrote about “agnostics, atheists and their sympathizers”. These harsh words were in a letter written by Brooks and posted by an organization advocating the coercion of public school students into acts of Christian religious worship.

In response, the Secular Coalition for Alabama has written a letter to Representative Brooks, which includes the following admonishment: “May we remind you Mr. Brooks that you were elected to represent all of your constituents, many of whom are among those you count as foes? Your words are an insult to all of them who do not share your religious views. Among those you count as foes are approximately 500,000 Alabamians. Some you call ‘foes’ were your supporters in the last election.”
