Susan Davis Linking Herself to Occupy Movement in Word While Opposing it In Deed
An organizer for the January 17 political action called Occupy Congress reports on a call from Rep. Susan Davis:
Congresswoman Susan Davis’ office called. She wants to meet with us in DC on #J17. “I want to support OSD you while you’re here”
“OSD” refers to Occupy San Diego, the California encampment in Davis’ district that has maintained a protest presence for three months in the face of harassment and occasional violence by police.
Read the record of Representative Davis to see how she’s been “supporting OSD” this year. This is the same Susan Davis who in 2011 voted for indefinite detention without charge via the NDAA, who voted for the reauthorization of the Patriot Act, who voted to let the President go to war without congressional authorization, who voted to keep the war in Afghanistan going, who voted for big military contracts for corporations, and who voted to put God in government.
If Rep. Davis wants to hitch herself to the Occupy wagon, it might be a good idea for her to stop voting with the authoritarians first.
