Scott Brown’s Van Scoyoc Breakfast an Intimate Fundraising Affair
In November 2010 That’s My Congress reported on a breakfast fundraiser for Senator Scott Brown held at the offices of the Van Scoyoc lobbying agency, 101 Constitution Ave, NW, Suite 60W. 101 Constitution Avenue is the building in the upper-left hand corner of the image you can see to the right. In the lower-left hand corner, separated only by a bit of grass, is the Capitol Building.
Now that filing deadlines for the November 16, 2010 event have passed, we can delve into FEC data and take a look at those who attended the fundraising event, for which $250 individual contributions and $1000 PAC contributions paid the entrance fee.
The following are the PACs filing contributions with the Scott Brown for Senate campaign during the week of November 16:
American Bankers Association PAC
Association for Advanced Life Underwriting PAC
Boeing PAC
Dirigo PAC (associated with Senator Susan Collins)
Dyncorp PAC
Heartland Values PAC (associated with Senator John Thune)
Independent Community Bankers of America PAC
National Grid USA PAC
National Retail Federation Retail PAC
TIAA-CREF PAC
Tenn PAC (associated with Lamar Alexander)
Thermo Fisher Scientific PAC
Washington PAC (pro-Israel policy group)
Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America PAC
The Van Scoyoc lobbying firm itself took care of its obligations to Scott Brown with a little upfront contribution to the Brown campaign a week before.
The only individual contribution that week from anywhere near Washington DC came from Jim Franklin of DC, a management consultant to ORC opinion research; he paid the $250 necessary for attendance.
This was not a warehouse event. It appears to have been an intimate affair, permitting attendees to gain personal access to the new occupant of senatorial power.
