Vern Buchanan’s Cut Corners In Sea Of Ethics
Yesterday, Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington filed a complaint with the FBI against U.S. Representative Vern Buchanan, who occupies the seat for the 13th congressional district in Florida. The complaint alleges that Congressman Buchanan pressured his business partner, Sam Kazran, to illegally contribute more than the maximum amount to his congressional campaign by taking money from employees of a car dealership the two of them ran, then compensating the employees with money siphoned out of the accounts of the business. “Just run it through the corporation,” it is claimed Buchanan told Kazran. It is further alleged that Buchanan attempted to bribe Kazran into signing a false affadavit claiming that the arrangement never took place.
Vern Buchanan appears to have plenty of resources to fight any FBI investigation that may take place. Just yesterday, Buchanan sold one of his yachts for 4.49 million dollars.
