Legislation Against Fracking Returns to Congress
Two years ago, U.S Representative Diana DeGette introduced the Fracturing Responsibility and Awareness of Chemicals Act, legislation to ensure that the American people could finally have information about the toxic components of hydrofracturing fluid. The legislation did not pass. This year, Degette is following up, reintroducing the FRAC Act as H.R. 1084. The law would end the exemption for fracking fluid from the Clean Water Act.
Who supports the effort to bring hydrofracturing back under the control of the American people? The list of cosponsors is below, and it’s worth noting that none of them are Republicans.

I support your bill to include fracking under the Clean Water Act so that we can examine all the components used in the process and prevent the despoiling of our water ways..
Its about time we hold these unethical business people responsible for destroying our water but pass it this time. What do they care for all the money they’re making they can live anywhere they chose probably Wahington D.C.
I am sickened by the idea that in the search for alternatives to foreign oil we are willing to poison ourslves and our children. If this process is so safe why does it have to be performed under a protected blanket of secrecy.
