Senator Saxby Chambliss is leaving the beltway of Washington, DC this weekend.
Is he heading home to Georgia, the state he represents? That depends on whether you count Georgia airspace. Senator Chambliss will be heading to the state of Florida instead, where he’ll be hosting a fundraiser for his “Republican Majority Fund”, a “leadership committee” through which Chambliss pays for parties and sends campaign contributions to politicians showing loyalty. For the low price of $1,000 to $2,500 — and a trip down to Florida — Georgia residents can meet, greet, and get face time with their Senator this weekend. Bring elbow pads, though: we understand that a more than a few lobbyists may try to corner the action, and their reputation is rather sharp.
