In November, South Carolina Republican Mick Mulvaney gained a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Part of his campaign was advocacy for corporate interests through a reduction of regulations that protect the environment. Mulvaney was particularly dismissive about the need to regulate greenhouse gases emitted as a result of human activities.
On the campaign trail, Mulvaney ranted against regulation of offshore drilling, and argued, “Neither should we ignore domestic energy resources – coal, natural gas, oil – because of baseless claims regarding global warming.”
Baseless? Are claims regarding global warming really baseless?
Today, the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration released data that provides a very strong base for claims that global warming is a growing threat. That data shows that 2010 was the warmest year on record.
It’s Mick Mulvaney’s claims about global warming that have proven to be baseless.
