2010 was supposed to be the year of the Tea Party, but that’s not how it looked yesterday in Florida’s 11th congressional district. Tea Party activist Tim Curtis challenged incumbent Kathy Castor for the Democratic Party nomination.
Curtis ran on a platform of expanding offshore drilling, ignoring global warming, and lowering taxes paid by the wealthy.
Curtis declared himself the “true democrat” in the race, but Representative Castor got 85.3 percent of the Democratic vote. Tim Curtis only got 14.7 percent.
