Marsha Blackburn Slurps the Half Shell on Tax Day
While millions of Americans scratched their heads and pulled at their hair while trying to figure out how they’d pay their tax bill and the grocery bill and the electric bill, covering costs that have inflated while wages have stagnated, Rep. Marsha Blackburn had free breakfast at an oyster bar with lobbyists and PAC directors invited to pony up a thousand or two in campaign contributions for some face time. Rep. Blackburn, the invitation prominently reminded K-street invitees, is on the Energy and Commerce Committee.
Marsha Blackburn didn’t even have to go through the trouble of arranging her glad-handing, oyster-slurping, check-writing breakfast. The hostess with the mostest this morning was Heather Cutler, whose job is to engage in “government relations” and coordinate money flows for pharmaceutical industry PACs.

I would like to suggest that Marsha Blackburn take a few economics classes so that she can understand what’s going on in the economy. I saw her on Hardball where she was obviously struggling. It made me wonder how she is helping the citizens of her district. Perhaps she’s not in politics to help the people but to help herself.
