Has America Not Been Heard on Health Care?
Shelley Moore Capito just gave a speech suggesting that the American people haven’t had the chance to speak about health care reform legislation. “America deserves to be heard,” she said.
Has our nation not heard enough debate over the last year on the issue of health care reform? Over one year of town hall meetings, protests, community forums, and private communications, have the American people not had the sufficient opportunity to have their opinions heard? How would another year without health care reform legislation provide an opportunity for the American people to be heard that has not already been granted?
Capito herself, and scores of other members of Congress, have spoken today, broadcast on national television in representation of those who oppose health care reform. How can it be said that the opposition has not been heard?
