Special Florida Primary Today
Today is the day of primary elections across Illinois. It’s not just Illinois that’s having a primary election though. In one district in Florida, there’s a primary election as well.
Why just one district in Florida? It’s the 19th district, where Congressman Robert Wexler has resigned, and a replacement needs to be found, even before the general election later this year. In April there will be a general election for the seat, but today, Democrats Ben Graber and Ted Deutch are competing for their party’s nomination, while Joe Budd, Edward Lynch, and Curt Price are competing for the Republican nomination.
The polls in this special election will close before the polls in Illinois do – at just 7:00 Eastern Time. So, checking in on the results of the Florida competition can be a great warmup for the contests going on in across Illinois.
