If anything, Martin has contrasted himself with Jesus. If you re-read the last two sentences, Martin goes from the 3rd person to the first. I believe all Martin has done is paraphrased the very inspiring story that, let's be honest, makes the season. What Martin is saying is that he draws inspiration from the lessons of that fabled manger where Jesus was born. However to the author's point that incumbent Russ Carnahan will "be facing much more" than just Ed Martin in the election, that much is quite accurate. Because Russ Carnahan represents privilege, peril, and politics as usual; Ed Martin represents industry and merit, ideas and discipline. I hope and believe that Missouri's 3rd congressional district will recognize, in time, that in Ed Martin they see much more of themselves, and a far prouder future, than they will ever find in Russ Carnahan. The First Amendment guarantees Atty Martin's freedom of speech and the press. What is your real issue with Ed Martin?
