Nita Lowey Promotes Information For Vegans In Congress
To be a vegan is to attempt to live without relying on animal products of any kind. That’s a pretty difficult thing to do in a society where animal products, from eggs to leather, are incorporated in a huge variety of things.
In order to help vegans in their efforts, but also to help others who attempt to be selective about the animal products they use, for cultural, ethical or personal reasons, U.S. Representative Nita Lowey has introduced the Food Ingredient Right to Know Act into Congress.
The bill, H.R. 2086, would require that companies reveal the animal products that they include in food, cosmetics and drugs. If you are struggling to make informed decisions about using animal products, or want to support the efforts of those attempting to make such decisions, get in touch with your U.S. Representative and urge the cosponsorship of Lowey’s legislation.
