John Adler Needs To Gain A Bolder Voice In Congress
John Adler is not one of the most experienced voices in the House of Representatives, and so to some degree it’s expected to see him hanging back from the fray a bit. In his first term in office, no one expects Adler to be introducing top issue legislation with large coalitions in place to support it.
Still, there are a lot of things that Representative Adler could be doing to contribute on the progressive issues that he spoke to in order to gain election in 2008. Adler can offer a co-sponsorship to a good progressive bill without much sacrifice. He can vote for progressive legislation without having to become a political powerhouse on Capitol Hill first.
Nonetheless, Congressman Adler isn’t doing those things. A look at Adler’s record so far reveals that while he hasn’t supported much regressive, right wing legislation, he hasn’t supported much progressive legislation either.
Mr. Adler, if you want to gain re-election in 2010 using the same kind of progressive support you saw in 2008, you need to step forward and help the progressive members of Congress to move a responsible set of bills forward. It’s time to get to work.

John…..My wife and I are health care professionals. I am writing to you to encourage you to vote AGAINST the proposed Nancy Pelosi health care bill. Short and Sweet – VOTE NO. Thanks, George
