Is Collin Peterson Too Tired To Stay In Congress?
Representative Collin Peterson has occupying his seat in Congress for 18 years. That’s long enough for anyone to need to get up and take a walk just to stretch their legs and refresh their minds. Peterson, however, seems simply to have settled down for a long nap.
Peterson has never been very popular with progressive Democrats, given his propensity to support some of the most extreme right wing legislation. In this session of Congress, however, Peterson has a low score on both the progressive scale and the right wing scale, indicating that he simply isn’t taking much of a stand on most issues at all. He has only sponsored five bills so far in the current session, and they’re extremely minor bits of legislation that fiddle around the edges of the important business of the House of Representatives.
Representative Peterson can’t even seem to summon the energy to ask his staff to keep his official congressional web site up to date. If you look on Peterson’s official site, the links to his legislative achievements are all old, referring to bits of work that he did way back in 2007.
Collin Peterson might do well to consider whether it’s time for him to retire, and allow a more progressive and energetic Democrat to take his place.

look at petersons record, and he calls himself a democrat. when i called is office on health reform, his staffer stated he would vote no to health reform, because he didnt think is would do enough. hes lost my vote.
