Matt Reichel For Congress, Because You’re All Losers
I have a great deal of hope for the future of the Green Party in the United States. I have hope, but I don’t have delusion about the Green Party’s present condition. At present, the Green Party is host to a solid core of serious activists and organizers, but also holds a large number of people who seem more interested in working through their personal issues than presenting a coherent vision of social change.
I had hoped that Illinois 5th district congressional candidate Matt Reichel was one of the serious Greens, but the way he’s running his campaign so far, I’m beginning to have my doubts.
It’s been almost two weeks since Reichel’s campaign was begun, but the only news from Reichel has been:
1. An announcement of the start of his campaign
2. A second announcement of the start of his campaign, eight days later.
3. In between, a complaint that there aren’t any real social movements any more, that no one in the current generation of young adults is really working, and that people are too inclined to follow charismatic political leaders.
On the downside, Reichel hasn’t managed to offer a positive message of what he wants to achieve in Congress. On the upside, Reichel certainly doesn’t seem likely to contribute to the problems created by charismatic political leaders.
A piece of advice, Mr. Reichel: A good place to start a campaign is to explain what you can do to improve voters’ lives, rather than telling them what a bunch of losers they all are.

Inane cheap shot from a coward too afraid to publish his name alongside his work, 8 days into a campaign set to go a full 16 months.
Absolutely pathetic.
Matt, a campaign that can’t start out well won’t end well. And, as for that attitude that the article pointed out, well, here it is again in your comment…
