12 Dems Join Dirty & Wasteful Missile Defense Fantasy

Posted on June 30 2009 by Congress Watcher

Missile defense testing is pork barrel spending. It funnels money to defense contractors who in turn spend a lot of money buying influence with members of Congress. It’s a source of corruption in our nation’s politics, and it doesn’t make us one bit more secure.

Posted on June 29 2009 by Congressional Aid

This morning That’s My Congress has released a report scoring the legislative performance of members of the LGBT Equality Caucus of the House of Representatives in the 111th Congress. Michael Arcuri Refuses To Deal With Climate Change

Posted on June 27 2009 by Congress Watcher

Posted on June 25 2009 by Congress Watcher

Ready to accept the challenge was John Culberson of Texas. Yet, Jeff Flake wouldn’t yield any time to Culberson.

A Green New Deal

Posted on June 24 2009 by Congress Watcher

Green Party Watch proposes a 7-point Green New Deal as the core economic platform of Green congressional candidates in 2010.

Read It Before the Vote Bill Introduced in House

Posted on June 23 2009 by Congress Watcher

Remember how the Patriot Act, with its many provisions cutting away at our constitutional rights, was passed before anyone in Congress actually had the chance to read the legislation? That happens all too often in Congress.

What Does An Inland Texan Know About Lobster?

Posted on June 22 2009 by Congress Watcher

What’s going to come from Jeb Hensarling next? Advice to Hawaiians about how to surf? Legislation for Colorado providing guidance on how to run ski resorts? A bill withholding home heating assistance from people in Alaska?

Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy and LGBT Equality Legislation: How does Kilroy Measure Up?

Posted on June 21 2009 by Congressional Aid

In her campaign to be elected as Ohio’s 15th District representative to the U.S. Congress, Mary Jo Kilroy asked for help. On August 31, 2008, about fifty members of Columbus’ gay and lesbian activist community turned out in a Get Out the Vote operation for members of the Democratic Party up and down the ticket. [...]
