Virginia Foxx Is A Hoax
A few days ago, I poked a little fun at the kooky incoherence of Representative Virginia Foxx, Republican from North Carolina. She was blaming Washington D.C. for being “perverse”, even though she lives and works in Washington D.C. herself.
Today, Representative Foxx’s verbal incompetence has brought her into the national spotlight. In a debate on hate crimes legislation, Foxx claimed that the murder of Matthew Shephard in Wyoming in 1998 was part of a “hoax”, and that he wasn’t killed because he was gay.
A hoax? Like people in Wyoming dressed up in bigfoot outfits, with chupacabra footprint makers, to make the murder of Shephard look like an anti-gay crime when it really wasn’t? There was a great big conspiracy of Wyoming homosexuals?
Sure, Representative Foxx. Sure.
