Baseball Investigated, Bush Gets Off Scott Free

Posted on February 27 2008 by Congress Watcher

The truthfulness of George W. Bush, on the other hand, has been in question for years on topics like sending America into an unnecessary war, obstructing legal investigations, destroying criminal evidence, violating the Constitution, torturing prisoners, spying against Americans, and on and on.

So, who is Congress investigating? Roger Clemens, of course.

Jay Rockefeller Facing Democratic Scorn in West Virginia

Posted on February 17 2008 by Congress Watcher

Over and over again, when time came for Democrats in Congress to show some backbone and stand up for the Constitution’s guarantees of freedom, Senator Jay Rockefeller left his backbone at home. The Democratic congressional primary for West Virginia is on May 13. If you’re a West Virginia Democrat, show up, and vote for anybody but Jay Rockefeller.

Progressive Democrats Against Max Baucus On The Move

Posted on February 13 2008 by Congress Watcher

Today’s vote by Max Baucus to support the new spy powers for George W. Bush was the tipping point. It seems that progressives are in no mood these days to give Democrats a blank check.

Tell Me About Bob Lord

Posted on February 12 2008 by Congressional Aid

With the news that Republican John Shadegg will not be running for re-election to Arizona’s 3rd District House seat, the prospects of Democratic candidate Bob Lord have just risen. What do you know about Bob Lord? What kind of a Democrat is he? Is a he a progressive who will promote a positive social vision [...]

The Myth of the Magical 60 Democratic Majority In The Senate

Posted on February 8 2008 by Congress Watcher

That’s a total of eleven Democrats who voted against the simple progressive idea that the Bill of Rights means something, and the government shouldn’t have the ability to conduct searches and seizures against us without a search warrant. So, let’s do the math. In order to overcome the damage done by these Republican-leaning or Republican-enabling Democratic senators, we’d need to have yet another eleven genuine progressive Democratic senators.

Right Wing Democrat Dan Lipinski Barely Holds On To Power

Posted on February 6 2008 by Congress Watcher

Dan Lipinski is the kind of politician who gives Democrats in Congress a bad name. That’s why it’s time of Democrats of good conscience in the 3rd congressional district in Illinois to stop enabling Lipinski’s anti-progressive abuse and support author Jerome Pohlen in his alternative campaign to challenge Lipinski for his seat in Congress.

Polar Positive Members of the House of Representatives

Posted on February 4 2008 by Congress Watcher

George W. Bush is trying to delay the decision of a designation of polar bears under the Endangered Species Act until after the February 6 auction of drilling rights in public waters of the Chukchi Sea to big oil corporations. The Chukchi Sea is to the north of Alaska. It’s where polar bears in the United States hunt seals, and its protection as polar bear habitat would require action on global warming, as well as prevention of oil drilling by George W. Bush’s family friends in the petroleum industry.
