“When I was a little kid, my friends and I played war…”

Bill Durston knows the difference between war and play. He’s been to war, and knows that war is not something to be entered into as easily as a childhood game.

Unfortunately, not everyone has had the same realization. Some people seem to regard war as a kind of plaything, like a ball that can be kicked around to score points. They forget that lives are at stake.

One of those people is Congressman Dan Lungren, the incumbent politician against whom Bill Durston is campaigning for a seat in the House of Representatives. Lungren voted in favor of rushing off to war in Iraq before the need for war was clear and before adequate preparations could be made.
