It’s a shame that Mike Arcuri has to be pressured into doing the job that he was sent to Washington D.C. to do, but the people of New York’s 24th congressional district are to be commended for their work to convince Arcuri that doing the right thing on Iraq is also the politically smart thing to do.
Sixteen Democrats are opposing the legislation in the House of Representatives that would end the Iraq War in 2008.
Many other members of Congress should follow the example of Pete Stark and acknowledge that they are not theists.
Best watch out for those Democrats in Congress, or they’ll write you another letter! We deserve better.

Not one of these senators opposes the death penalty. They may talk, hypothetically, about the shortcomings of capital punishment. When they have the opportunity to act, however, they do nothing.
