Congressman James Walsh Wanted This Censored

Republican James Walsh, a Bush loyalist running for re-election to Congress in Upstate New York, is used to having things his way. I know. I used to live in his district, and Congressman Walsh treated it as his fiefdom, his territory.

No more. This year, James Walsh is getting a real challenge from Democrat Dan Maffei.

This week, in Syracuse, New York, the ABC TV affiliate, WSYR, was supposed to run an advertisement put together by a third party activist group. The advertisement was critical of James Walsh for supporting George W. Bush’s bad decisions about the Iraq War. The ad was accurate. James Walsh supported the stupid idea of the Iraq War from the start. I know. I personally went to Congressman Walsh’s office to ask him not to vote to support the invasion of Iraq. Walsh turned that request down without any good explanation.

So now, James Walsh is being held accountable. But, like a typical bully, he doesn’t want to let anyone else talk. So, he tried to censor the commercial you see below. He told WSYR to remove the advertisement because he didn’t like what it says. The people at WSYR, spineless and used to giving James Walsh whatever he wants, obeyed. They censored the ad.

We here at That’s My Congress are now officially de-censoring the ad. Here it is, so that you can see it for yourself.

This commercial is now being posted on web sites all over the Internet. That’s what happens when you try to censor something, Congressman Walsh. People get offended by your arrogance, and end up spreading the message you tried to squelch.
