Representative Harold Ford Jr. has officially gone nuclear nuts.

Today, Congressman Ford, who represents Memphis, Tennessee in the United States Congress, voted in favor of George W. Bush’s plan to help India build more nuclear weapons. The plan sends nuclear reactor fuel to India, allowing India to shift resources from its civilian nuclear program to its program for nuclear weapons. This, in spite of the fact that India already has nuclear weapons, has refused to sign the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, and has recently tested long range missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

Why? Why are we giving India this help with its nuclear weapons program?

Mangoes. I’m serious. George W. Bush says that this deal will enable the USA to get more mangoes from India.

And Harold Ford, Jr. approves.

You know what’s really scary? Harold Ford Jr. is running for the United States Senate.

This isn’t the only right wing vote from Representative Ford - far from it… and he’s a Democrat. What is wrong with the Tennessee Democrats for supporting this guy?

Please, please, don’t vote to send Ford to the Senate. Support Chris Lugo for Senate instead.
