Support Viola Thomas-Hughes Against Frank LoBiondo

Posted on June 12 2006 by Congress Watcher

I have been disappointed in the results of the Democratic primaries in many of New Jersey’s congressional districts. The victory of power broker Albio Sires is particularly troubling. However, I’m glad to see Viola Thomas-Hughes will be the Democrat to take on Republican Frank LoBiondo.

Representative LoBiondo is, to put it plainly, a right wing bigot. He’s voted for many bills that would help the Religious Right impose their narrow beliefs on the rest of America, destroying our liberty along the way. At the same time, LoBiondo has gone along with the Republican Party’s dangerous borrow-and-spend legislative agenda, putting our children into massive debt for frivolous and wasteful programs.

Viola Thomas-Hughes is not a flamboyant political superstar, but she is a solid, reliable Democrat. There is no question that a Representative Thomas-Hughes would be a marked improvement over the destructive Frank LoBiondo. If you’re in New Jersey’s 2nd district, Thomas-Hughes has earned your support.

We Should Support Joe Lieberman Because He Is One Of Us! Maybe. Kind of. Sort of. No, Actually Not. Call the Bully’s Bluff.
