Entrenched Republican Incumbent Deborah Pryce Getting Desperate in Ohio’s 15th District
Via the Ohio 15th District blog, I stumbled upon a Columbus Dispatch article which makes it pretty clear that Deborah Pryce is worried about a political breakdown. The conservative Republican member of the House, running yet again for re-election in a violation of her pledge in 1994 to the imposition of term limits, is so worried about her vote margin that she’s trying to kick someone else off the ballot.
Charles R. Morrison II gathered sufficient signatures to hop on the ballot as an independent, but Pryce is throwing a fit, filing claims, and appealing to an administrative board to kick Morrison off the ballot because she feels Morrison’s run would be inappropriate and inopportune. My stars, but it seems the veteran congresswoman has a wee bit of trouble with the concept of democracy and elections.
Of course, whenever you say “wee bit of trouble with the concept of democracy and elections,” Ohio Republican elections operative Ken Blackwell is bound to appear. Blackwell, who’s running for governor despite a history of ruling favorably for Diebold while holding Diebold stock, looks to cast the deciding vote on the state Board of Elections. Golly, what do you think Mr. Blackwell will decide? Typical crooked Ohio Republican nonsense.
Meanwhile, the Democrats are sending their megawatt star, Senator Barack Obama, out to campaign for Mary Jo Kilroy’s election. With the very popular Obama giving Kilroy his seal of approval, Pryce should be scared. She’s been in Congress too long, and Ohio is itching for a change.

The Republican party that I decided to align myself with when I was in High School has gotten away from it’s own basic morals and concepts. The two parties have now become more and more alike, which honestly no longer serves the average American’s view points.
Charlie Morrison was also disillusioned by the Republican party and decided to try the INDEPENDENT route. I cannot say that I agree with everything that Charlie has said, but I agree with the basic principals of scaling back government, making people become citizens and supporting the country in which they choose to live and work, and protecting our borders from those who want the freedoms and benefits of this country without becoming citizens.
I will throw my support to Morrison, because the only way to create change in the political arena is to support someone that is willing to stand up against the powers that be, and all of the bad things that they now represent.
