The following 18 Democrats in the House of Representatives did something remarkable yesterday. They actually showed some spine. On Sunday, March 26, these Democrats responded to the clearly criminal behavior of the Bush Administration by sending a formal request to the Bush White House urging that something actually be done about it. They called upon President Bush to appoint a special counsel to investigate the National Security Agency program to spy against law-abiding Americans without any search warrants.
Oh, it seems like a small thing, but consider what the other 400 plus members of the House of Representatives have done about the problem: Absolutely nothing.
Congratulations to these 18 Democrats, for having enough courage to finally do what everyone else in Congress should have done a long, long, time ago:
Zoe Lofgren (D-CA)
Gary Ackerman (D-NY)
Rick Boucher (D-VA)
Lois Capps (D-CA)
John Conyers (D-MI)
Peter DeFazio (D-OR)
